To celebrate the release of her 25th book, Weathering the Storm, we sat down with Australian rural romance author Mandy Magro to chat about what inspires her writing!

This a pic of my darling, and very spoilt, Sophie (toy poodle). She will be 9 this year in August. My constant writing buddy!

Our brand-new haven in the tropical South Cairns rainforest. What a dream it has been, watching our home start from a block of land 12 months ago, to all we had ever imagined, and more! So happy here.

Two photos of my sweet birds. I spend time with them each and every morning for an hour before I start the responsibilities of my day. The Indian Ringneck is Star…he is an absolute larrikin! And the cockatiel I am holding is Charlie. He is my little cuddler. We have also just had Charlie’s new girlfriend, Lola, join our crazy tribe, and we have Jet, the Hans Macaw – he talks and talks and talks! He even says I love you. So gorgeous!

My office and view – I added the pic of my reformer Pilates machine, which is in my office. The view out my office window is perfect for writing and exercising. After being crammed into a little villa with 2 dogs, 4 birds, and 4 humans, I am adoring my own creative and Zen space!
Don’t miss Mandy’s new book Weathering the Storm – out now!

Batten down the hatches when fate throws an opinionated journalist and a commitment-phobic cowboy into the middle of a TV dating show… Heartfelt rural romance from bestselling Australian author Mandy Magro.
Montana Walker isn’t thrilled when her new assignment is covering TV’s hottest new dating show. She begrudgingly travels to the chosen bachelor’s cattle station in the remote outback, wondering what woman in her right mind would want to fall for an ex-bull rider?
She should know, because the bull rider in question is the very same man who broke her eighteen-year-old heart. Not that she thinks he’ll remember her. She was just another fleeting fancy, she’s sure.
Mason Wilde finds himself completely out of his depth when his family nominate him for the show. Ever since he messed up the best relationship he’s ever had, he’s avoided any kind of commitment. Imagine his surprise when he spots the woman who got away working among the crew.
But whatever winds of chance are blowing, you can’t change the past. Montana and Mason agree it’s better if they keep their distance and protect their hearts. However, fate has other plans and they are forced to be around each other for countless hours of filming — while their attraction is undeniable. So much so, that if they’re not careful, they’ll become the news story…
