HarperCollins Australia Claims 11 #1 Bestsellers in 22 Weeks in 2026

Sydney, Australia — June 5, 2026

HarperCollins Australia has achieved 11 number-one positions on the NielsenIQ BookScan Australian Bestselling Titles list within a 22-week period in 2026 (up to 30 May), marking a significant commercial milestone for the publisher. The result reflects the collective strength of HarperCollins Australia’s list across a variety of genres in both local and international titles.

Highlights have included Heated Rivalry by Rachel Reid (Emblaze), which held the number-one position for four consecutive weeks, and Three Reasons for Revenge by Dervla McTiernan (HarperCollins), which debuted at number one in its first week on sale and remained at the top of the chart for the following two weeks. Other number-one titles are: Where the Light Gets In by Ben Crowe (HarperCollins), Yesteryear by Caro Claire Burke (4th Estate), The Ballad of Falling Dragons by Sarah A. Parker (Harper Voyager) and The Long Game by Rachel Reid (Emblaze). Across the 22-week window, titles from HarperCollins Australia and its agencies collectively accumulated 19 total weeks inside the top ten. Fiction proved the most consistent area, accounting for 10 of the 11 number-one positions, with Romance topping the charts for five weeks, reflecting a continuing consumer demand for the genre.

“I am thrilled to see this result,” says HarperCollins Australia CEO Jim Demetriou. “It reflects the vision and passion of our publishing teams across a broad range, including non-fiction, crime, romantasy and contemporary fiction. The promotional activity across marketing, publicity and sales to support our amazing authors has been exemplary, and the championing by our fantastic bookselling community, across all channels, has driven record sales far beyond the initial release period. We will keep investing in bold, diverse and commercially strong books that connect deeply with readers across the country.”
