Discover how to make your home the meaningful place you’ve been dreaming of, one that cultivates faith, beauty, peace, and welcome.

Inspired by the warmth and intentional living seen in the homes designed by Jean Stoffer and Grace Start from The Established Home television show, The Purpose of Home helps you explore how thoughtful spaces shape the way you live, gather, and open your doors to others.

A home is more than a collection of rooms. It’s where morning coffee is shared, meals are prepared, conversations linger, and guests are welcomed with open doors.

In The Purpose of Home, five Stoffer family households invite you inside their homes and the rhythms of a day—from breakfast in a peaceful log cabin to lunch in Michigan, afternoon coffee in a downtown apartment, and evening aperitivo in Chicago. Through stunning photography and personal reflection, you’ll discover how intentional design and simple traditions can transform everyday living into moments of beauty, connection, and hospitality.

Each chapter invites you into a real lived-in home and includes:

A reflective essay on the deeper meaning of home and hospitality
Thoughtful design insights that bring warmth and purpose to each space
A signature recipe from the table
Practical design takeaways you can apply
A scripture that anchors the heart of the home

More than a design book, The Purpose of Home is an invitation to see your home differently—not as something to perfect, but as a place to cultivate faith, beauty, peace, and welcome. Whether large or small, city or countryside, your home has the potential to become a place where the people you love gather, feel nourished, and experience the quiet gift of belonging.
