Meet the O'Sullivan sisters ... The stunning new Irish series from the international no.1 bestseller.

Their brother was never tried for murder. They're still living with the verdict.

Ten years ago, seventeen-year-old Laura was found dead in the woods outside the Irish village of Kiltober. There was no arrest or trial, but her boyfriend, Conall O'Sullivan, was condemned by neighbours, friends and people who had known him all his life. Within a year, Conall was dead too, by his own hand.

His sisters were left with the consequences.

Clíona, now a police officer, never forgave Kiltober and swore she would never return. Ava, a young defence barrister and the town's favourite O'Sullivan, sees the village and what happened to their brother very differently.

Called home after their father's heart attack, Clíona returns alone. Ava has just taken on the case of her life - defending a seemingly innocent client who reminds her too much of her dead brother.

Then, on a walk in the woods, the ground collapses beneath Clíona, revealing a hidden cellar, an iron bed bolted to the stone and a bloodstained mattress.

Clíona is certain the cellar is connected to Laura's murder. Proving it could finally clear Conall's name - but she'll need Ava's help.

Their brother died condemned as a killer. His sisters are coming for the truth.

'A rich, dark, deeply moral thriller that pits sister against sister, neighbour against neighbour, past against present. The Black Dove is part village whodunit, part cop investigation, and part legal thriller, but it's too bold and inquisitive to be boxed in - imagine the driving police-procedural energy of Tana French spiked with Liz Nugent's psychological depth and you've got the idea. Read it for the gripping, layered mystery; read it for the moving family drama; read it for the sheer what-would-you-do shiver. Just read it' AJ Finn
